It is With Great pleasure I read this article. If there is anyone from Oregon reading this call or write your Representative. Free college tuition would be provided for orphans and widows of Oregon troops killed in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars under a bill that’s won Oregon Senate approval.
The bill was approved Friday after backers said while free tuition won’t ease suffering over the loss of a loved one in war, it will give those orphans and widows a cause for hope for the future.
More than 100 troops with Oregon ties have died in Iraq and Afghanistan. It’s estimated that as many as 18 students who qualify for the free tuition will enroll in the Oregon University System.
The bill now moves to the House for consideration.
