USS Pueblo story survives through time and torture

I was not on USS Pueblo. I was on USS Perkins DD877 The ship pictured in my blog. I was in Sasebo Japan Getting the war complement of munitions off the ship and anticipating the Cruise to Yokosuka Japan for minor maintainence and A speedy return to San Diego.
However this was not to be. We were returned to Sasebo and reloaded. As we cleared the Port entrance on our way to Sea we were accompanied by a Russian destroyer This ship was there courtesy of the Traitor Walkers. John and company had just sold our most secret communication codes to the USSR. we were not told of our mission until well out to sea.
Our mission was to join a large task force on it’s way to Korea . We were reacting to an act of piracy and thought that we were to rescue our sailors.
I want to Say to Mr Kisler and his Shipmates that I am personally thankful for his and his shipmates bravery underfire and in captivity.
I also wish that we could have done better in our effort.
